Las Tetas, Puerto Rico

Hi All, Just trying to find out if a 70m is necessary for routes (multi) at Las Tetas. Thank you! Mike |

I feel like a 70m is needed for titanium fetish, and beside that i couldnt think of any route that would require a 70 but it could allow you to do longer rappels and save time in the day. The lizard the wizard pitch does not require two ropes any more cause you can rappel the route “the nose” the route to the right that has 3 pitches. |

Hey Dre! Are stick clips needed at Pasillo or Tetas? |

Mike Farthing wrote: Stick clips are not needed for safety, first bolts are almost never higher than 10 feet. Stick clips are always a good peace of mind measure anywhere one climbs and it can aid you up the wall so you dont lose gear because of rain or bailing. Good trick when traveling and not being a super confident climber is to have the metolious super clip and buy a painter pole at any hardware store. To answer the question, a stick clip is not mandatory in PR like it is in other places. I sent you an email also about your questions on the rappels if you haven’t seen it. |

I think I got your email a while back. A little confusing with the reply vs personal message option! Thanks for your response. I think I remember being glad we had a stick clip at Flying Coconut last year for a few routes. I have do have a superclip I may bring this trip. I didn't know what Pasillo Frio looked like as far as stick clipping. Thanks! Still deciding on a 60 or 70 also. If it's just one route I fired we could tagline a 60? |

Coconut is an exception and the owner has stick clips laying around. A 60m will be good for climbing but for rappeling on Titanium Fetish you’ll need the tagline, I just recommend to stick to the designated amount of rappels per route so your rope doesnt get stuck. Having a tag line also opens up the possibility of some free hanging rappels, the route Trifecta has the option for the last rappel, the same for Lizard the Wizard. |
