Swollen Hands from Days of Climbing

If I climb for a day, everything is generally fine. It’s when I climb a lot for multiple days that both of my hands swell really bad. Also, for whatever reason I find myself waking up often during climbing trips bc my hands go numb throughout the night.

Does anyone else suffer from this? If so what advice do you have? Thanks in advance.

(1) Take more/better rest days. Performance rock climbing’s not an everyday sport. (Sadly)
(2) Stretch your neck! I was getting numbness last winter from doing more steep sport climbing than I’m used to and found stretching my neck to fully solve the problem over the course of a few weeks.  Googling thoracic outlet syndrome put the fear of god in me as far as neck mobility goes. (There’s a horrifying thread on here about all the people who’ve dealt with it)

I get the exact same thing and also wake up With totally numb hands often during the season specifically when my arms are bent while sleeping. If I have a legit huge day my hands swell up like Micky mouse gloves the night after. Haven’t really figured out why yet I just expect it and have found that ice or squeezing frozen stuff for a while helps it drop quickly

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
