Super Ultra Fast’n’Light Thermos?
|
Having a piping hot beverage or a hearty soup counts for a lot sometimes! Do you folks have recommendations for a brand or model of thermos that doesn’t weigh a ton? Bonus points if it has a little cup companion. Cheers! |

I use GSI microlite bottles. Pretty happy with the 1 liter, although no cup companion |

Zojirushi. So much lighter than anyone else and you'll still burn your tongue at the end of the day. |

A Nalgene water bottle inside a down bootie. |

Hydroflask trail series is super light considering how well it insulates. No cup and not a thermos technically but a good option imo. I’ve definitely hauled my 10 year old full size Stanley out to the crag, can’t be beat but definitely not light. |

Not super light, but the GSI glacier series is fantastic and you’re not drinking boiling liquids out of plastic every time. Cup included. |

I use my zojirushi for 'fast n light' when I want a hot drink on demand. When I can afford the extra free exercise I bring my huge Stanley and happily provide hot drinks for me and my unsuspecting partners. |

For going fast and light, a titanium vacuum flask is your friend. Lighter and less heat conductive than steel. The Japanese titanium vaccum bottle from Thermos can be found on ebay (but it typically is shipped from Japan.) There are titanium vacuum flask options available on Amazon as well. Do a search for "Boundless Voyage Titanium Thermos Bottle" on Amazon and you will find some. A few years ago, I did some testing of various insulated bottles I used for winter activities. The results are here: http://larsonweb.com/blog/hydration-part-1-insulated-water-bottles/ |

Kai Larson wrote: I imagine the performance of the Hydro Flask is due in part to the additional capacity/mass. Also, there seems to be a newer model titanium Thermos for around $100 on eBay, though it's now made in China. |

Hydroflask has lightweight versions of a few of their bottles. |

340g for a hydro flask that’s 18 fluids oz |
