First time I’ve run into this. How exactly is this useful? What purpose does it serve? When trying to talk in a specific forum (ie broken harness) thread I suddenly can’t. Can an admin please explain?

This limit is what made me decide to stop adding routes to the data base.
My response to the limit doesn’t really make sense, but idgaf

The old owner was a control freak with an agenda. The new owners feel resentful to have to write code for a bunch of people who shriek at a new login and won't spend a dime to fund the platform.

Glossy words won't change a thing.

After a classic two unhelpful, but true, comments, here is the reason. It’s basically a way to enforce a cool down period in heated threads without having to have an active moderator. Works well sometimes, but often just results in longer winded, more thought out replies that are nuttier than squirrel shit (on both sides sometimes).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
