Where to buy rope by the foot?

Anyone have any good sites/shops to get dynamic climbing rope by the foot? I’m aware of hownot2, yet they don’t have some that would fit my specific needs. Looking for rope that’s 7.7-8mm dynamic. Thanks

HowNot2 has a note on their By The Foot page where they say that if you’re looking for something they don’t offer by the foot, that they’re often happy to cut up a rope from stock. Couldn’t hurt to ask. You could tell them you know of at least one other person who’d pick some up too.

They cut some 9.4 sterling for me that wasn’t listed as by-the-foot. I sent an email and not long later the 9.4 had a by-the-foot option on their website. That’s some hard to beat customer service.

If you are looking for that size range for use in a petzl connect or otherwise tether use, beware, if it isn't a supple rope, the experience may not be what you are hoping for. 7.1mm Edelrid Skimmer half/twin is very stiff for a dynamic rope.

8.2mm Edelrid Starling Protect Pro Dry half/twin IS quite supple and people seem to really love it for this use.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
