It's new to me at least, but I'm not a gym rat. Has anyone encountered one of these. (I think this is publicly available without a Facebook account):

I remember seeing this a few years ago now, looks interesting. 0% chance we ever see one in the good ol' USA.

Looks cool - found, what appears to be, user video on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZDboLsdr5o

I am with MA - 0% chance seeing in good ol' USA.

Edit - one more, a bit longer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0REyqk8gCM

Why do we think 0% chance?

Too litigious, that Seattle(?) gym already lost a lawsuit with regular top rope auto belays because a guy who climbed regularly forgot to clip in. No way insurance would cover them, my guess.

Yep, we saw one this summer at the Salewa HQ gym in Bolzano.  Very cool.

The gyms we went to in Italy are much better than the gyms we've done in the US. And half the price.

Because idiots are litigious.  Remember that incident that happened in OR or WA and then like fifty other gyms took down their auto belays because one moron didn't clip into one and cratered?  Yeah.  That happened.  Even my gym took the auto belays down from the "tall" walls because of that.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
