I was doing a ton of research on all the different options and realized there was no central review or guide for stick clips. Being that I'm a tad bored today (snow day), I compiled all the options into a neat little format. If you have any additions to my list, experience or appreciation for any of the options here, please comment! I'd love to review all of these if someone wants to send me them.. :-)

I love my Skyhook and was quite dejected at its discontinuation. I'm glad Metolius picked up the design. Huge fan of their products and ethos.

Thanks for compiling the info! Fortunately no snow day here because we already have it off.

One addendum for the Metolius Basic Stick Clip. You can unscrew the Superclip at the end, making the collapsed pole 29". For those of us searching for a stick clip we can travel with, this is a crucial measurement.

Thanks Mike, I'll add it in!

The Kailas Clip-Up is functionally the same as the Superclip, and can be used to unclip draws and clip rope in the exact same way. The Rope Head should be removed from the list. It is an arborist tool for clipping branches and I can't see any way it would be useful for rock climbing.

Thanks Alex, I'll update the list. I've heard that the Kailas is more fragile than many of the other options, could you weigh in on that?

I don't have one, but I have friends that do. The general consensus is that the build quality of the pole isn't great. I personally haven't heard of any issues with the quality of the clip.

My friends poles have broke, but I've been careful with mine and it's still going a year later.  The clip is a bit "soft", so it doesn't full open the carabiner unless I squeeze the metal a bit first to shorten the width

Jeremiah, that’s one comprehensive list. Thanks for that.
Also… thanks for writing “stick clip” instead of “clip stick”.   ; )

The redpoint ones should be in the category "sticks with clips preinstalled". I have one and it's fantastic - sturdy, good extending mechanisms (which can be tightened).

The skyhook ended up being a pretty terrible product. It was a good idea, but poorly executed.  The guy who sold them was based in Central Oregon, so lots of people here bought them and then like 70-80% of them had theirs prematurely fail when the clips stopped grabbing the body of the stick.  The Redpoint ones (both the burly and the lighter designs) are way better.

Are you sure? Looks like they can all be sold with or without clips.

Wow, I sort of live in a vacuum, but I had no idea there were so many stick clip tools out there.

I have been 100% content with my Super Clip. Does everything I need it to; clips the bolt and if needed can clip my rope to a fixed draw.

For a stick I use the longest window washing pole I’ve been able to find. I don’t get on airplanes with it, obviously. Doesn’t even fit inside my car, it gets strapped onto the roof rack.

My goal is to clip the SECOND  bolt on most routes, thus the 24’ reach. I’m old and very breakable, and not too worried about what the cool kids at the crag think. If I wanted to hit the ground when I fall, I’d go bouldering…

Ok, I edited them in. Not dead sure on the length but have reached out to them and will update.

Update, edited in the correct numbers.

Painter’s pole/2” spring clamp deserves a line item.

just saw a new one: the Hangdog Magic Wand

It's made to be used with Mad Rock Trigger Wire carabiners and looks like it can be clipped to a harness comfortably while climbing

Wow that's cool, I added it in a new category.

Kong Panic probably deserves a mention in your new category.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
