Hello community!  I am planning a trip to Europe in the spring (April/May) of 2025, I have not decided where, only that I will be flying into London and going from there.  I was wondering if anyone has any information of how to hook up with climbing partners in an area abroad when traveling alone?  Is anyone reading this potentially making a trip of that nature in the spring?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I found Facebook climbing groups pretty good for finding climbing partners in most major climbing areas in Europe. Bigger areas sometimes also have pretty active women’s only groups if you‘d rather find a female partner. From a quick search there seems to be a London Ladies Climb group.

I’m in Munich if you make it out this way and are looking for a partner. There are also quite a few active Facebook climbing groups in this area, including women only, English speaking, spontaneous outings, etc. through which I‘ve had no trouble finding climbing partners in the past.

Tons of solo climbers always looking for partners in Spain, although April/May will be towards the end of the season. I went solo to Kalymnos in April a few years ago and never had any issues finding people to climb with. Generally I just went to the crag with all my gear and would ask people if I could join. There is also a very active telegram group for Kalymnos, and several pretty active WhatsApp groups for Spain (the Kalymnos groups are all in English, the Spanish ones it really helps if you speak Spanish or catalá).

climbing hostels and popular climbing areas.  Have a kind and friendly attitude, be willing to give more than you take (ie belay lots, bring snacks, etc).
