This sort of accident is in its own category in the sense that he and his partner were climbing the most elite terrain possible. Total cutting edge alpine style on a massive high altitude Himalayan North face. So far out there. So committed. The surprise is not that people die doing this, the surprise is when they succeed. This dude was all in and he paid the ultimate price. RIP.

That was indeed the elite climb and a very unfortunate outcome. The incident did happen on the descent where it was probably less skill and more fatigue to be a culprit.
