Chris Jones' book is " Climbing in North America ". Kind of an understated sort of title, but it is a comprehensive history of mountaineering (which includes rock climbing) in , well,  North America. Chris was English, and a rather understated and unassuming kind of man. (I do have a story about that.) He was a very accomplished climber,  particularly in the alpine realm. I posted about his passing a couple days ago in the memorial thread section, after hearing about his passing from a mutual friend.

Yet another set of broad, badassed shoulders that the current generation of climbers stand upon…whether they know it or not.
