Needles Lookout Trailhead Access

I know it has been discussed in a previous thread, but that hasn't seen activity since early on in the summer in that thread. Curious about people's experience climbing in the Needles recently. I called the Forest Service and sounds like the forest service road is still closed for logging. But people still biking in to climb? Haven't had any issues being turned away while the logging crews are working? Since the forest service road is closed, where have you been camping? Any other insights would be appreciated. Hoping to climb there mid to late September.
