I thought I remember someone mentioning a reservoir (near Boulder?) where you can sport climb and go swimming. Anyone know a spot along the front range?

Cheers

Be nice to the place! It's a special one. Maybe I'll see you there.

I think there is decidedly NO SWIMMING at Buttonrock area, River Wall, or the Longmont Reservoir. Has that changed?

Actual swimming in most reservoirs on the Front Range is restricted/pay access and there are none closely adjacent to climbing areas that I can remember. Best you're likely to do is dipping in the creeks such South Boulder Creek (Eldo) Boulder Creek (Boulder Canyon) and so on.

Woops, you're right, no swimming permitted as stated on the Longmont website.

Just be aware that "swimming" and "wading" are legally different.  If you were to just walk into the water, feet or butt still on the bottom, sit down and splash yourself (to cool off) it's not "swimming".  Had this discussion with a ranger many years ago at Horsetooth Reservoir.

bell buttress in boulder canyon might work.  good hole below it.

I heard at Eldorado Canyon, the swimming pool just outside the entrance is now open.

Plenty of spots in the South Platte (Deckers, 11mile, etc....)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
