ClimbOn Replacement Suggestions?
|
I've been looking around for any skin care that competes with the ease of use/storing/quality of climbon (it's been discontinued!). Does anyone have a skin care regimen that they can't do without?? |

I’m a pretty big fan of Rhino Skin Solutions and do find the variety of products do meet what they are marketed for- Split does heal my skin faster than other products that I’ve used Repair kind of a daily use Performance strikes a balance between Repair and then starting to dry things up |

I like Joshua Tree because it’s made in my hometown. There’s other non climbing products like Burt’s bees etc. that might work too. |

Climb on is basically beeswax, vitimin e oil, and essential oil for smell. It's really easy to make a bunch of it with a double boiler (a big pot and a small pot) for a fraction of the cost. I spent like $10 years ago and it'll probably go bad before I use it all. |

Joshua Tree Salve is the closest off-the-shelf product to ClimbOn from what I can tell and it comes in the same type of container. I know someone who switched to just regular Vasoline after ClimbOn went away and it works very well for them (also the same type of jar/container as ClimbOn). |

Plug for: https://oneearthbodycare.com/skin-fix/ The folks who own this company are climbers and make good stuff. They're also [disclosure] my cousins-in-law. |

Derek Neill wrote: It was 5+ years ago so I don't remember. I'd say just try and make a small batch and make sure you're getting the wax:oil ratio how you like it (more wax for a bar, more oil for a cream) and go from there. Not sure why it made your skin feel weaker, maybe the type of essential oils you're adding if any? The ingredients for climbon are available online, so you could use that as a rough guide, at least for ingredients by relative volume. |

man, i wonder what happened? They were briefly available in our local King Soopers/City Market/Kroger. I do like this stuff a lot and it's made by climbers here in Colorado (it does have CBD in it) https://solmountainfarm.com/products/2oz-healing-salve |

Raw Mango Butter has been my go-to for about 3 years now. Works great for skin repair and makes you smell good. |

The climbON story: theupcorp.com/pages/the-ori… You can still but it under the original logo. One of the original staff revived the product after the bd parent company discontinued the product. Its a bit on the pricey end, but worth it if you're addicted to the stuff |

A quick search will find this person to be questionable between a Reddit thread, another Reddit thread and I’m told there’s emails to show too. |

I use Rhino Dry a couple times a week and it's been amazing for my constantly seepy skin. Repair is for the opposite problem, skin too dry. Otherwise I just use gold bond, I like the non-greasy types that don't smudge all over everything. I never noticed any tangible benefit to Climb On vs gold bond or working hands. |

I don’t give a rat’s ass personally, but I’m curious why WY chose to join MP and jump in for these posts. Is WY the sister in question? What’s their angle? |

Eric Marx wrote: Working hands contains dimethicone, which really helps if you are getting your hands wet, I use it daily because I cook a lot, but also wear gloves when possible. J tree salve is nice when you’re climbing on highly erosive rock, I think it does help to moisturize your skin.. one of the best tips I’ve learned is to simply wash your hands really well, especially under the nails, to remove all the excess chalk. |
