Resling BD cams in Spain/Europe?
|
After Googling around a bit, I found a German place that will resling Black Diamond cams: https://bolting.eu/re-sling-service-fuer-friends-klemmgeraete/ Has anyone ever used their services? Are they up to BD standards? Are there any other good options in Europe? I’m in Spain but I have found exactly zero options here unless I missed something. Sending them or carrying them back to the States seems like a pain, expensive, require a lot of time, and with possible customs duties on the return… but maybe not? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks. |

Lhotse in Poland reslings cams as well. Website is polish only though |

Hi Daniel, What is your experience? The Innsbruck option is quite expensive end takes a long time? The Lhotse guys seam okay. I do resoling (about 20 pairs) now at Restdays also in Poland. So far perfect craftwork. And no language problems. Anyways I like to hear what your verdict is cam wise. |

There used to be a guy in Orpierre, France who did that, but I have no further info other than having heard about it back in the day. |

Also , that shop in Innsbruck just collects them and sends them to BD (BD europe for C3 & C4's, BD USA for Z4 and ultralights) (or Totem, or DMM). I don't know what it costs to send back & forth yourself, might be cheaper or not. |

I haven’t yet sent in any cams. It may be another year before I do, but I’ll report back with my experience. |

Gatos Nafarroa ( gatosnafarroa.blogspot.com/…) is located in Pamplona (Navarra). They specialize in resole and reslinging cams, and they also offer extensions for Totem cams ( mountainproject.com/forum/t…). They are excellent at resoling and repairing cams as well as all types of alpine gear. I work with them frequently.
