Hi I'm going to grand teton in the July 4th holiday and want to spend a day doing the OS route (or upper exum as a backup) and want to know the snow condition there. Would anyone who has recently climbed the route mind sharing the condition there? Thank you.

LOWER SADDLE: Getting to the lower saddle is almost snow free. The summer trail is almost completely melted out, though a few steep snow crossings still exist. The fixed line at the lower saddle is melted out as well, but crossing snow is still required. All camping zones have melted out and dirt is available for tent footprints.

GRAND TETON: Snow is still on the upper Exum route, but is avoidable. With good route finding no axes or crampons are needed. Some snow/ice on Owen Spalding, but mostly dry.

per Jenny Lake Rangers posted to instagram about one hour after you posted your question.

Chance of precip on Wednesday which includes snow and a low of 30°F at the lower saddle. Could see more ice, never know until it happens.

Updated Report:

Snow hit the saddle last night:

I'm being guided up the Exum in 2 weeks; I just discussed gear prep w/ the guide service and they told me to leave the double boots/steel crampons at home.  "Can climb to the summit in approach shoes."

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
