I work in construction. It seems like every structural engineer on all of my projects specifies Hilti HY-200 for anchor bolts. All of these are structural applications that sometimes get pull tested by a testing company. The stuff just plain old works awesome.

Has anyone ever used it for glue-ins?

Recently expired stuff can’t be used on a job site. But could it be useful to a local route developer?

Engineers use it cause the software for the design is freakin tight and they're lazy, i.e. I'm lazy cause I do the same thing haha.

Personal opinion: any glue from a reputable mfr installed per their recs is going to keep our fleshy skin suit off the ground.

I used expired HY200 once that cured WAY too fast. I'm sure YMMV but be careful using expired epoxy. Otherwise it's a perfectly suitable glue other than being more expensive than many of the alternatives.

I am a big fan of Hilti Hit HY 100-500 for glue in Bolt climbing applications. A while back I exclusively switched to the Hilti Hit 100-500 Slow Cure. (Reddish in Color) … the stuff allows you to make all installs with one nozzle.

Yes, Hilti stuff is more expensive, but sometimes “Quality doesn’t cost that much more”.
I can’t speak for the other stuff out there utilizing single chamber (chalking gun) type applicators.

Yes, a fair amount but only when there was a requirement for a super fast cure. This comes with a super fast gel time so for glue-ins, everything needs to be prepared in advance (holes cleaned with an anchor in each hole ready for gluing) and the injection done on abseil rather than ascent.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
