I am wondering if anyone has used it? The goods/bads vs a traditional aid ladder. I found the traditional aid ladder bulky with too many loops that I never touch.

For big wall aiding? Awful. For following? Fantastic. You may not use all the loops when aiding, but you use enough that you're better having them than not.

I’ve got one I haven’t gotten around to using much. I’d sell it to you for $20 if you’re interested

The foot tape is not designed for aiding. So it would be a really poor choice to try and replace it for a ladder. Metolius used to make and maybe still does an “Easy Aider” that was a single foot loop that could be adjusted easily with a pull strap. The easy aider never caught on cause it was clunky to use and made high stepping difficult. What you’re looking for depends on what you’re planing on doing. For me, I mostly free climb but occasionally find myself on walls with short sections of aid. I carry a Metolius pocket aider that has been modified with a spreader bar made from PVC pipe and electrical tape. I also carry a Petzl foot cord with a tiny dmm locker which usually stays on a Kong ascender. Both of these are used with a modified Petzl adjust (small cord). With this set up I have been able to aid short sections, follow and jug with relatively less bulk and weight.

The DMM locker I use is rated for 4kn and it allows me to get a second fully rated carabiner through the Kong ascender hole.

The Petzl one seems better for jugging a fixed line, where you never need to step higher than a fixed amount over and over again. It seems like you could go faster with it, because it can tighten around your foot so it doesn’t slip off. But it’s not as good as an actual aid ladder for aid climbing, because you can’t easily step higher up into it to place your next piece of pro. It would be very finicky to try and adjust the length on the fly I feel like.

If you still have it, I’d take it

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
