Has anyone ever DWS at Summersville Lake in WV?  Where is the best place to camp to be closest to the best DWS areas?  Is saw Miranda Campground in Mt. Nemo WV.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Any info will help if you have been there and done this before.

I haven’t DWS there but I know it’s popular. The Gauley dam campsite is free and close

You can camp anywhere.  The lake is a 20 minute drive from a lot of the campgrounds there- 30 at the most.  Be wary of jumping in from any height higher than about 6' off the water.  The Army Corps of Engineers that manages the area has made it "illegal" to cliff jump starting in about '07 or so.  Technically you can climb as high as you want, but they can cite you for jumping in from any considerable height.

Could one argue that it is “falling in” rather than “jumping in”?

You can argue whatever you want.  What will be taken seriously or accepted as an excuse is up to the ACoE.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
