Building a climbing wall on floating walls?

Does anyone know whether I can build a climbing wall attached to a "floating wall"? Due to Colorado's shifting soil, I have these floating walls in my basement (pic attached). I'm just thinking about all the weight that a climbing wall would add (and people on said wall) to a wall that is already not truly resting on the ground and wondering if I should be concerned about this. Perhaps it's just a matter of adding additional nails/screws to the top of the floating frame before attaching a climbing wall, but thought I'd ask the community here in case someone has direct experience with and knowledge of this. Thank you!

Can you see what the present attachment to the joists is?  Are the joists perpendicular to the wall that you want to use?

There is a 'Home Climbing Wall Forum' on Facebook that is very active.

Thanks, Victor. We never put up drywall, so we can see everything. I'm doing 4 walls, and 3 of them have perpendicular joists, and one wall is parallel. It seems like perpendicular would be better since I'd be attaching to more pieces, right?

Thanks for the FB group rec - I found and joined the group, and searched for "floating walls" posts. One guy recommends attaching to the anchor piece on the ground itself, but I think that would defeat the purpose of floating the wall in the first place. After doing a search on Mountain Project forums, at least one person is saying it's solid despite parallel joists. I'll keep searching in both forums, but happy to hear any thoughts you may have too

PS I found a good deal on climbing holds on that FB group, so a good bonus for me ;)

Cheers,

Chris
