Anyone used the Acrux lt gtx boots?

I’m in the market for that, doesn’t completely suck on the approach and can still go up some glaciated / snow field terrain that we have for summers in the PNW. Also yes I’ve been using trail runners. I was going to get the Aequilibriums but they’re all sold out in my size for the color I want. Another option is the Scarpa Zodiacs, La spo Trango techs but really just wondering if anyone has used the arcy boots. I know people have strong opinions about everything, especially Arc’teryx. |

Plenty stiff for steep snow and a bit of easy alpine ice, and quite precise on rock, no problems climbing 5.9 in them. For what they are they are pretty comfy to hike in, however they are significantly more boot than the trango tech or zodiac. While those boots are closer to B1 in stiffness the arc boots are definitely a true mountaineering boot, much stiffer and clunkier on the approach and better for climbing. |

Thanks Kevin, might still have to go with the approach shoe and boot combo. |

I have these boots and quite like them. The fit is noticeably narrow and somewhat long but it works for me. I wear them on moderate approaches (like baker north ridge) for the approach plus the climb, and they hike well enough for me. For long approaches i still bring trail runners. If the snow or glacier are mellow enough I’ll often try to get by with just goretex running shoes and strap on crampons. They’ve held up well over 2 seasons so far (i somewhat worry that the lace lock bracket does not seem very burly, but so far it’s been fine). It’s my first ‘summer mountaineering’ boot so I don’t have a ton to compare them to but feel free to ask any other questions |

I just ordered some and tried them one. Agree they are a bit narrow but I like the length. Going to take them up baker next week and can report back. Seem to walk fine, fit really securely almost like a climbing shoe also pretty light. I don’t think I’ll be taking them to glacier peak but for one day or one night summit attempts they’ll be fine. Noticeable little insulation but that’s what I wanted. |

Jc Genest wrote: Didn’t end up doing Baker but they climb well and used them for some scrambles. They’re Trango adjacent and fit my feet better. Haven’t had any durability issues but the laces do go through fabric eyelets. Hiked like 30 miles straight in them right out of the box for glacier peak and they did well. |
