Lone Peak Cirque Conditions 2024

It’s that time of year. Anyone been up yet?

I was thinking of heading up this weekend to check things out. Looking at the NOAA cams, things still look pretty snowy still.

I hear it’s wet as a bone.

Thinking of going up the weekend after the 4th. Anyone have an idea of what conditions would be like?

Did you end up going last weekend? How were the conditions? 

Was up there this last weekend. Still lots of water just below the cirque. Snow in central cirque. Approach has a good amount of wildflowers. 

Anyone been up recently? Still plenty of water? 

Was up last weekend (July 19-21) and there was ample water and snow still on the way and in the cirque. Not sure if there were any pools to filter from in the cirque proper, but you could easily melt snow.

It is melting quickly though.

7/28 water was still flowing slowly just in some pools in the gully below the cirque. Still some snow patches at the base of the peak.

This was the state of the snowfields on 8/4. There was still a very slow trickle of water in the stream below the cirque. 

Hoping to still make it up there. Anyone think there would be water this weekend after the snow yesterday? 

Aside from a couple green puddles of stagnant water and a few handfuls of snow,  it's completely dry in and below the cirque
