One of my big goals I want to do before the end of the year is to get from the valley floor to the top of North Dome in 24hrs (hopefully less). I'm not even close to being good enough to send Crest Jewel, but a friend told me about the South Face Route (5.8) but based on MP comments 5.8+. I've been able to climb Royal Arches in 5hrs pitching it out (no simuling), so I'm hoping to increase that speed via simuling it. 5.8 in the valley is max grade in the valley I've been somewhat frequently able to onsight, so I'm hoping to find a partner who has more mileage in Yosemite to join me on this adventure as the South Face Route on ND is old school 5.8.
I'd like to do this sometime between now and the end of the season. If this interests you please reach out! 562 394 3843 (call, text, MP dm, whatever you want)
You could also do the South Face of North Dome, without climbing Royal Arches, by hiking in from Tuolumne Meadows. Did that a few years back and it is a great route, worth the hike in!
