Every time I try to download all the photos in the Squamish - in British Columbia region i.e. ~3295 photos, I always get "An error has occurred" and retrying results in the same error. It does seem the photos get downloaded because the app's data is substantially larger after the process, but it errors at around 90%. iOS 17.5.1 Mtn Project v. 4.5.8 Already tried deleting the app from the iPhone Storage settings page, reinstalling the Mtn Project app, and then retrying the download.

This seems to still be happening with the new app version (even though it gets through 100%, error message still comes up). Probably due to one or a small number of photos that are breaking the download. Thanks for your patience, we'll take a look asap!

Wanted to make sure I revisited this one. As we were trying to figure out a fix, the total number of photos within the Squamish area now exceeds the downloadable limit for a mobile device. So, that means this isn't a bug anymore but one of the sub-areas within Squamish could likely still have a corrupted photo file. If you run into a sub-area where you can't successfully download the photos, please let us know!

This bug seems to happen whenever there's a large number of photos to download in general. Getting the same error for Leavenworth, WA area.

Checking now. My assumption is that one or two corrupt photo files will break the download of an area so you're more likely to run into that issue in bigger areas where there are more photos. The workaround is to try to download the photos for the next smallest area within Leavenworth or any large area. That said, definitely want to track down the photos that are broken so thanks for reporting.

This might be purely anecdotal, but I found when I get an error downloading at around 96% or higher, I can simply just try to re-download it 2-5 times and it'll go through successfully. But if it errors at 90%, it's just not going to download at all. -- On a separate note, is there a way to clear the cache or unwanted data without having to delete the app and reinstall it? I can't tell if the app actually clears offline data from storage after it I request to delete it or when it errors out.

This issue didn’t use to happen. Now it happens for most large areas that I try to download. Downloading a ton of sub-areas within a large area is time-consuming and annoying. Can you have it skip photos that are triggering an error in the download?

Agreed! It would be nice to track down the reason this is happening.

Noted! Good potential fix, Garrett. I'll ask and follow up here when I know more.
