Guide Service Recommendations Near Boulder/Denver
|
Hi everyone. I'm going to be in the Denver/Boulder area on June 15/16 and want to do some climbing in the area either Saturday/Sunday. I am likely looking to hire a guide and do my first multi-pitch climb. I looked a bit on mountain project and seems there are a decent amount of moderate/easy routes in Eldorado State Park that would be what I'm looking for, but the shear number of other options and options for guides is overwhelming. I'm comfortable reliably leading up to ~5.10a/b sport at the Red in Kentucky without falling/taking and have never done any Trad. Does anyone any specific recommendations (or recommendations to avoid) for a guide service in the area? Or recommendations for routes. I have looked at a bunch of the classics, but assume they might be packed. I was going to lean on the guide for this recommendation, but figured I'd still ask here to read around. |

There are so many but two I've worked with for various things that I can recommend are: Sam Sala with Denver Mountain Guides and Meg Nickman with Smile Mountain Guides! You will probably have a good time no matter what, but good luck choosing and have fun! |

Plugging Western Mountain Guides. Admittedly out of your zone, but a solid bunch of guys. Think they will all be done floating out of the Alaska range by mid-June. |

Smile Mountain Guides are great. Jeff and Brent are both top notch. |

Peter Thomas at Golden Mountain Guides is the man |

I highly recommend Golden Mountain Guides. I use them quite a bit and I've always had a fantastic time. www.goldenmountainguides.com |

As others have said, There are so many, but Jason Antin stands out in my mind as an excellent guide and human being. |
