Hi! Curious for everyone's favorite High Sierra Scrambles. Can be ridges or not. Looking for 3rd, 4th, and easy 5th class. Coming from LA so would love anything that is further south if possible. Thanks so much!!

Hi Madeline. In 1979 John Fischer and i made the first traverse of the Palisades. It took seven days and was  fifth class with full packs and regular rubber shoes. It was repeated twenty five years later and I was sent pictures of our summit register notes still in place. It has been done now in the Winter but I've never seen a report by any woman climber and wondered why not  ?

I guess that was just a "scramble" back in '79, Gerald!  ;-)

Whoa!! I’m interested. This sounds super fun! I would be open to beta on it! I’ll do some research. Looking for some big days this summer

Here are my all time favorites organized by class rating:

Although looking back I might bump north ridge of North Peak up the Class Four list, since you can link it directly into north ridge of Conness.

Scylla claims the top spot for the Class Two routes for sheer remoteness of Ionian Basin.

The Class Three list could basically go on forever in the high sierra!

Wow this is rad!! Thank you so much for sharing. That’s really cool on the Conness link up too!

Madeline, I’m a 100 peaks in and my favorite is Russell’s East Ridge.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
