Alta Climbing in Gilbert and Chandler
|
Looking to move to the area next month and looking at joining Alta Climbing! Anyone been there? Give me the deets. |

Fantastic gym. Far and away the best gym in the Valley...lightyears ahead. Opens early, full weight room, tall walls for a gym (55-60'), constant new sets, great training areas, free yoga/fitness classes, and empty during the days (busy at night). There might be better options if you are only into bouldering. Friendly vibes too. Even has a physical therapist there a few times a week who is a climber and understands climbing specific injuries. I'd say the downside it living on this side of town puts you farther from the great climbing of northern AZ. You are a bit closer to Queen Creek and southern Az however.. |

Its the best ive been. When im in phx i drive 1.5hrs to get there well worth it |

I visit AZ usually once a year to visit family in Tucson and am always checking out the gyms in PHX and TUS. I looked on the Alta website and it is hard to tell, but from the photos it looks like they have a few autobelays, correct? Which—Gilbert or Chandler—would be best for a guy driving through looking for an autobelay workout, or are the two gyms identical? (Sorry to slightly hijack the thread… but just for a moment.) |

Chandler is just bouldering. |

Thanks, Ted. I’ll definitely be checking out Gilbert when I’m out that way again. Pardon the interruption. Now back to regular programming… |

Thanks everyone! |
