BC ski recommendations

I'm out west for a month or so. Any recommendations for low-angle touring in the Sierra? |

So many options and the Sierra is huge. The season is winding down so you'll want to go to higher elevations and get an early start. I haven't been up in a few weeks. For North Tahoe check out Sunrise Bowl and Silver Peak for easy, Castle Peak and Mount Rose Wilderness for high elevation start. https://skitahoebackcountry.net/backcountry-zones/north-tahoe-donner-summit/ |

Here is a great resource detailing many classic Sierra tours. Tallac in Tahoe is one of the best low-angle tours around |

You’re here just in time for spring skiing on the eastern Sierra. Skip Tahoe, it’s better during winter. If you want to skip buying a guidebook, I’d check out the eastern Sierra avalanche center website (and Bridgeport avy center), check out observations from past years - you’ll find plenty of ideas for tours through that. |

Good beta to be had from the SF Backcountry Skiers group on FB: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1150152011668361/ Evolution basin looks good. This time of year, the higher the elevation the better. |

Here's another link to maps, etc. for backcountry ski touring in the Sierra. |

Not the Sierra, but Shasta is prime right now. |
|
Lassen & Shasta usually this time of year. |

Thanks. You're all gentlemen and scholars. |
