Has anyone used this piece of gear? looks exactly like the Camp Lift ascender. They have some reviews on Amazon and have a American address. The copy cat of the camp lift ascender is half the price and still has a CE certification branded on the ascender. It looks like they also have a hand ascender similar to petzl, which is also half the price.

It's a generic uncertified Chinese product. The US address is for a registered agent, not a real address. Going to their website tracks your IP with a request to "shoppingcarrts.com". That product doesn't even list a "Notified Body" number which is required for PPE (although it would likely be fake anyway).

In some of the promotional photos, and the actual product on Amazon (photo below), they have the "Chinese Export" symbol on them and not even the real CE marking.

Interesting. I wonder if the product is from the same manufacturer with just a generic name. I wonder if anyone has tested the rating on this or has done an official review vs Camp Lift

If you scroll down on this page it lists some Chinese clones (no testing though).

A fun fact from that page is that there are ribs on the outside (i.e. unused side) of the camming surface because CAMP reused some tooling from their nuts to lower costs. The Chinese clones all unnecessarily copied this non-functional detail.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
