Crux - New free home wall app
|
Hey hey, I wanted to tell people about our spray wall app, Crux. It's similar to Stokt / Retroflash but we scan walls automatically so you don't need to wait for Stokt to "process" your wall. it's also 100% free for home wall users. Crux lets you set climbs, search, sort, mark sends, see your trends over time, etc. All the usual stuff. If you check it out, let me know what you think! https://www.cruxapp.ca/homewalls |

Downloaded and gonna try it right now! Do you have to take a new photo every time you set something? Is there a way to have a fixed pic of the wall?

Been playing around with it this morning and I think it's great, thanks for sharing. I recently reset my whole wall and have been dreading updating retro flash. This is honestly going to make that whole process twice as fast, and so far has been infinitely more enjoyable than zooming in and getting my circles just right. The other major benefit for me is the way you've set up the photo system. I have an arete feature that makes it hard to fit every single hold into one single picture without taking the photo from a wicked angle- which skews the perspective. Now, I've got 2 photos in the 'recents' and like you said above, it doesn't need to rescan every time. It's super seamless, great job. The AI did have a little trouble picking up a few holds. A few white ones that blend in with the wood just weren't picked up, and on a volume it combined a couple holds that were close together. I assume that is something that will only get better with time. How long has the app been out for? The only other thing I see missing is an 'info' section for the home wall. Maybe it's there and I just haven't found it, but a small space to write maybe a description of the grading system, or "keep ya dirty feet off the wood holds", something like that would be nice. Seriously, I think this is really good, thanks again for putting it out there! |

Lincoln Mahan wrote: Not a problem, thanks for your comments :) The photo system throws people off but we built it for exactly your usecase, I think we just need to document it a bit better. People are very used to the Stokt / Retroflash way of doing things. The AI makes a pretty small # of errors these days but it's not perfect. Every couple weeks I find time to do more training, so it's still getting better over time. The spray wall features have only existed for a month or so. We have an info section for commercial gyms but not for home walls, I didn't think there was a use case. I'll add it to my TODO to expose it for home walls! |

I might be an edge case, but I have a wall in my living room and one in my garage. Is there functionality to add 2 walls to one “gym”? |
|
You have two home walls? I'm insanely jealous :P I'll shoot you an email about the second wall. |

BITD we would mark all of the holds on our woodies with names. Then we would record our problems (“Mork to Mindy . . .” and so forth) with a pencil on a piece of paper. But this looks quite good too. |

Just used this tonight and wow… what a phenomenal app. You guys put out a killer product and I can’t say enough good things. Thank you! |

Yes, I have multiple walls. Let me in on that functionality please! Looking forward to trying the app! Thanks, ahead of time. Eric |
