Ft Knox, KY for the Summer

I am unexpectedly being sent to Ft. Knox from early May through mid-July and I know nothing about the local climbing there.  I have looked in the "route finder" portion of MP and I am not finding much.

Curious if I should bring a bouldering pad, my sport rack, trad rack, any or all of the above for the 10 weeks.

Any beta would be greatly appreciated.

That’s like 2 hours from the Red. You can sport, trad, and boulder there. I would say it’s most famous for the sport climbing. It’s pretty hot and humid in the summer though, I personally would not choose to boulder in that weather.

You can also drive 4 hours to Obed in TN, they also have sport, trad, and bouldering.

Ah, I didn't realize that RRG was that close.

Unfortunately I will not have a single day off for the ten weeks but I might get an afternoon off here and there.

Thanks for the info!

Rocksport in Louisville is a great gym with an awesome staff just FYI. Sounds like your best option.

That’s where I spent last summer. Best bet was day trips to climb at the gym in Louisville

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
