Steve Knutson passed away in his sleep. He was known for first ascents in Oregon Cascades, Santiam area, in the 60's and 70's( Dodge Guidebook). Also early climbing at Wolf Rocks, Smith Rock, and Beacon Rock in the Columbia Gorge. He is more known for his caving explorations in the U.S., Central America, and Peru. He was interviewed in a History Channel episode of a Peruvian mummy burial cave |
