So its out, I see it in stock.  My question is has anyone actually purchased this thing?

Looks great, but a pain to roll/unroll between climbs as well as the fact that its expensive.

But I love new gear, anyone have first hand experience and want to chime in?

$225 ?

I will stick with my tree branch and rubber band.

I think it looks great. I have a painter's pole which would be a pain to carry on approaches (even collapsed).

I could see it being especially nice for multipitch.

I always wanted a snap bracelet big enough to take out a small crag dog

I think it’s awesome. Just the act of taking it down and apart after each climb seems taxing.

I can see this thing being great if you're going on a climbing trip that involves airplane travel. Otherwise, it just seems like a lot of faffing about, no? Strapping a stick clip to the side of your bag, or using as a walking staff are both plenty acceptable options in my book.

I'll just leave this here: gripclipclimbing.com

Little device I make. Travel stick clip adapter. Essentially accomplishes the same thing but arguably more convenient and cheaper.

Yeah, Gripclip works great for me if I don't want to tote a separate pole around.

Bump for that GripClip thing. $25 is a great price for something like that, thought i’d see $40 or something. looks super handy, outside of the desert ;)

The price is very high, but it's super light, packs really small and can easily be taken up on multi-pitch climbs. You just need an extra carabiner to attach to your harness (the carrying case comes with a loop for one). It does not take very long to unroll and roll with a little practice. I am very happy with my purchase.

I’ve had my hands on the roll up stick and it looks great. Haven’t actually used it but it seems like the Cadillac of stick clips. Priced accordingly for what you get. I put together a dirt bag option that is viable. Weight is just 4.5oz and easily carried for travel or on a multi pitch at 16” x 1”. Extends to 8’ in seconds. Carbon fiber telescoping fishing pole. Not as solid as the roll up when deployed, but definitely usable. Retrieving draws with my pole would be questionable, I haven’t tried it yet. Can be used with the super clip, mad rock trigger wire, or Kong Panic quick draw. For the latter two, the thin side of the pole is attached with a couple of o-rings. For the super clip I bolted a paint pole fitting to the wide end
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
