V12 resole in Bay Area California

I just got my shoes back from them. My first time having shoes resoled so I'm not sure if it was a decent job or not, I have nothing to conpare it to and I've never even seen a pair of re-soled shoes irl.

Turn around around time was 9 days, drop off/pickup at the foster city location. It seems v12resole sub-contracts out the work to a local cobbler. $65 all said and done. Not sure what rubber they used, it was one of the 2 they listed on their site. Had to use their site (kinda annoying,) couldn't drop off and pay cash. Gave em an old comfy pair of beater shoes to test.

What yall think? The finish looks a little rough but again, no idea how hard this type of work is and nothing to compare it to.

They look far from a high-end resole but if they are convenient and you like the way the shoes climb still, call it a win.

That's the second worst resole I've ever seen after the shoes I got back from this guy: https://www.prodealresoles.com/

I did not have a positive experience with v12. I dropped off at their Santa Clara location and was emailed 2 weeks later saying the rubber was out of stock but they would get a new shipment in a month later. Well that never happened. I think the contract they had with the cobbler at that location didn’t work out since that location is closed. Looking at your shoes, I’m glad mine never got touched by v12.

no bueno from that cobbler. Garbage quite frankly.
Funny Doctor drake had issue with prodeal. They are the absolute worst at communication bar none, but got a good resole done from him in about 5 weeks.
Weirdest thing is how he jizzed the white glue all over the rand of the shoe to keep it pinned down...like be a little more precise with the glue application, but in the end doesn't effect anything, just looks weird AF to see your shoes bukkaked by the cobbler.

Definitely the worst job I've seen, I can't imagine they would hold up, I have seen nice looking resoles delam and quickly fall apart I can't imagine this would last the test of time.

I sent them some pics and they offered to re-do it.

Damn, that looks terrible. I was considering sending my shoes to them because they were local but they don't even have any of the high end shoe rubbers available (xs grip 2/xs edge).

On the other hand, pro deal resoles is cheap and did a good job for me earlier this year, but turnaround was like 9 weeks.

Yup, I checked these guy's work out in person at a gym, and can confirm they've got some practice to do before I'd consider sending a pair in...

Their second attempt. Looks better! This was out of their Santa Clara facility, I believe. Turnaround was about 9 days. Customer service was great. I would use them again but I don't think I'd have them work on any expensive/nice shoes just yet.

I guess the gluing a pice of rubber over the hole is the latest cool trend in the resoling would.

Just curious did you have two holes in the rands?

Yes, each shoe had a hole in the rand. Right shoe was about 3mm, left about 1mm.

What's normally done for a rand with a hole?

If V12 is just turning around and giving your shoes to a standard cobbler, I’d question what value they add.

Having also made the mistake once of having a standard cobbler resole my shoes, I would not do that again. The results looked similar to what you got.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
