"Pre-Workout"?

There is a targeted demographic for ads for "Pre-Workout", and that demographic is me :).  Does anyone use a pre-workout mix for training and climbing?  I tend to pull plastic and lift early in the morning.  I'll take any edge I can get - it's hard to get psyched and dig deep at 6AM but I'm leery of buying into the latest snake oil.

I really enjoy coffee, so that's my vote. Coffee machine with scheduler helps.

For weight training, I do regularly.  For climbing training, I don't like feeling that jacked up.

Found they can work for max bouldering and sessions that are focused on power training but man do I get pumped fast when doing power endurance or endurance training when taking them. I've tried a couple different types now, same answer every time.

I'll add on to the caffeine/coffee comments by saying there are gummy chews out there with a little caffeine in them. Those are my favorite for long sessions, chew one or two at a time every 30 minutes or so.

Can you unpack that a bit? Is their a product you like for weight training?

Does it just make you too jittery too focus and climb well?

I'm usually up at 5 suck down some black coffee and a few calories and train at 6.  Some plastic pulling, some weights.  So yeah, I'm already riding waves of caffeine to get me through my sesh.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
