Has anyone gotten a cyst in the palm of their hand from climbing? I just had a couple appear all of sudden and they're a little annoying. Went to urgent care and the doc prescribed motrin and rice. I didn't do it though lol, I hate taking meds and dont think rice is good for anything really. I have an appt with a hand specialist and want to ask them to drain them. Has anyone ever had theirs go away somehow? I had wrist cysts when I was a kid and remember I popped them once and they never came back. Kind of have tried that on these but they won't pop.

I've got a recurring cyst on one of my ring fingers, between the second and third joint. Comes back every couple of years. The old people called 'em bible cysts, because they got rid of them by whacking 'em with a bible. I smack it with my wall hammer.

Yes I had a cyst removed from my palm that formed around a "foreign object" that I likely received from a metal splinter. Had it cut out by a doc sewed up and moved on. Once the stitches were out life was normal.

Will you let us know what the hand specialist says? I have a hard lump that recently appeared in my palm.

Have you considered it might be Dupuytren's contracture? There are multiple threads on MP discussing it.

That's what it seems like thanks. I have an appt with a hand specialist next week we'll see.

It is dupuytren's is what this hand specialist said. He gave me a pamphlet about it which he apparently memorized because that's all he seemed to know about it. I asked him what percentage of people that get it need treatment and he said "we" don't have that data, as in the 1st world medical profession I guess. 5 seconds after leaving his office yeah there's tons of medical papers on it haha.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
