Mad Rock sizing

Wanting to try out the new Drone CS, but nowhere nearby stocks them to try on. Can anyone compare the sizing to Skwamas, BD Shadows, BD Zones, Theories, old Hiangles, or Teams?

Its street shoe sizing. I wear 11.5 lv.

My street shoes vary in size from 10 to 11 depending on brand, so I try not to base on street. Basing off similarly snug fit shoes is much  better

I have street shoe size 7.5 measured with a Brannock device. In La Sportiva I used to wear 39-39.5, depending on the shoe model (also this was before they apparently changed sizing?). In the Mad Rock Drone originals, I wear 7.5 HV (which is still pretty low volume) for a perfect fit that does not involve a ton of toe curling (I no longer like to have my toes extremely curled anymore).

I emailed Mad Rock about sizing for the Drone CS, and they said that half of the population uses the same size as original Drone, half size up 0.5. I bought both a 7.5 and 8 in a Drone CS and they were much smaller than the original Drone, the 7.5 in CS was almost a cm shorter. Even the 8 was unwearable. The strange thing is that I once tried on another person's CS in 7.5 and they seemed to fit fine? I'm not sure if I just happened to buy an inconsistent sized batch, but I had to return both.

Long story short, I would recommend you try on a regular Drone if possible, then follow the advice about adjusting for the CS, even though it ended up not working for me at all. At the least you need to know which volume you need, considering the difference is pretty dramatic.

If you manage to find anywhere in Reno/Tahoe/NorCal that stocks Drone 2.0 or Drone CS, let me know. I'd also be interested in trying them on if I can find a place.

while I personally don't climb regularly in bd shoes, I have worn them a couple of times.

compared to the bd zone and method shoes, I would go up a size.10.5 for those bd shoes to drone 11.5 lv for me. If I got hv ones, I would get 11.

Awesome. Will see if anyone else confirms that bd to mad rock comparison. Pretty stoked

My drone cs size was the minimum of all my street shoes: boots, running shoes, etc. Their return policy is also easy and pleasant, I just bought 4 pairs and returned three for sizing.

Sounds like 5.10 Teams sizing then for me
