Climbing gym access in Italy?

I'm visiting Italy (Florence, Tuscany) this spring for a non-climbing trip from the US.

I'm trying to figure out gyms to get a few hours of training in while I'm there- I keep reading that you need a doctor's note (?) to participate? Can anyone validate? How do I get one?Would be bouldering only (no room for gear).

I have climbed at a few gyms in Italy. No Doctors note required.
That sounds all kinds of made up.
Who told you that, and do they look like this?

+1 I was able to walk into a bouldering gym in Padua, told them I was visiting, and paid ~$10 to climb as long as i'd like. Don't overthink it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
