Petzl Lynx 2024

Petzl seem to have sneakily released an update to their Lynx which makes them fully cross compatible with their other crampons (same for Dart) with the Alpen Adapt system.

There also seem to now be two possible positions for the mono point. Was there a demand for a more centred mono position?

I believe that the additional slot for the mono point is a consequence of the fact that the front section of this new iteration of the lynx is now symmetrical. The new frame looks like the one of the vasak and sarken, with different front and secondary points. A bit of a disappointment, as I think the asymmetrical design of the old lynx was one of its best features allowing for great fit and excellent placement of the underfoot points along the edge of the boot sole.

Those look like the same design as the Lynx I bought in 2022?

The front crossbar is different.

I always assumed that when the dart/dartwin were revamped into the current dart, that it superseded the lynx. I guess not, if they are updating it. Seems odd to keep 2 crampon bodies in production that take the same front points and are are largely the same now

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
