Liner socks- Silk vs wool?

Going to try out a pair of liner socks for underneath vapor barrier socks. I am aware of the general pros and cons, but is anyone especially passionate for wool vs silk in a liner sock specifically? Semi leaning towards wool, as should be warmer and do better with the inevitable crusty odor a vapor barrier sock will create in the liner. Thoughts? Thanks!

I've always like the patagucci ultralightweight socks.  They're some kind of polyester/nylon blend.

Those look like a great option!

I like the ininji toe-liner socks. I think they are some woool/synthetic blend.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
