Black Diamond harness and ice clipper compatability

Hi Folks, 

I've got a question about BD harnesses and ice clipper compatability. 

1) Do BD harnesses like the Technician and Zone fit Petzl caritools?  Not the new ones with the eleastic strap, the old ones that go through the hole in the hanress. 

2) If these BD do not fit patzl caritools...what do they fit?  Does BD still make its own ice clipper?  I can't seem to find it on the website.

I use the Petzl caritools on a technician. I find the Petzl has a little lip in the spine of the caritool near where it sits in the slot that makes it nearly impossible to get the thing off. I shaved this down so it’s more of a ramp. If you don’t think you’ll ever take them off/it’s a dedicated ice harness, they’ll still fit without modification.

Yup I did the same with mine a few years back. I used a Dremel and just took that entire protruding thing off. They fit super easy now on my Technician. 

I use the old bd clipper but I am 90% sure that my friend uses the old carytool with his technician harness 

Well, that's good news.  So my stock of Petzl caritools should fit in the Technician with a little bit of grinding/sanding.

The reason is asked is that I recently picked up last year's vision (the white/black model) and the Petzl Caritolols do not fit into those slots...the Technician looked like it might be similar so I thought I'd ask.  

I have several BD harnesses and my caritools fit just fine…

The normal Petzl Caritools fit BD clipper slots, in my experience, but I often modify mine in the same way as above (filing down the ridge on the inside a bit so it’s easier to get them off), and I also file the whole thing to be a bit narrower so they fit a little easier. So yes, with a little inconsequential filing/grinding they work just fine.

The Carritool Evo, on the other hand, is no where close to fitting in a BD ice clipper slot, at least not on the Technician or Zone. Does anyone know if the Caritool Evo fits in the ice clipper slots on the newer BD Vision Recco harness?

The Evo works decently with the universal attachment cord placed between the two gear loops, and I like the fact that it carries more screws the normal Caritool, but wish it would fit in the BD ice clipper slots.
