I got a big dome, holds a lot of knowledge. Except that of dome protection that fits my large, and oddly shaped, cranium. Currently rockin the BD Vector M/L, its comfortable enough but would love some more wiggle room to customize the fit and have a cap under it.

Recommendations on other helmets? Any out there that are L/XL? Any out there that aren't heavy bucket helmets?

Thanks!

I’ve got a fat head (7.625” hat size) and I’ve tried 3 different helmets with the most success in a current version BD Vapor m/l helmet. I can get away with the petzl sirocco larger size as well, but have a lot more room on the vapor. Also tried the mammut wall rider mips larger size but can fit only the thinnest of beanie under it and the strap is as loose as it can go.

Have a wider-than-average head, and like to wear a running ballcap and hood under my helmet, currently happy with the CAMP Titan.

Smith makes XL (fit up to 67cm) helmets, winter focused but some are dual certified for climb/ski.

Industrial climbing helmets are also often offered in larger sizes.

BD Half Dome barely fits me without hat, and it sits way too high. I recently ordered Kong Mouse Sport, it is supposed to fit up to 64 cm head circumference. We'll see.

Try the Salewa Vayu 2.0 L/XL

everybody says that they fit HUGE heads.. i just bought an S/M and its pretty spacious. The only problem is that they are not avaible in the US, and it seems that they discontinued them, but you'll find plenty of the L/XL avaible... for me took almost a year to find an S/M

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
