I'm training since late 2022 on my Metolius 3d Simulator. As you know it's a polyester hangboard. Recently I've noticed that various edges that I use are getting very slick, in particular on the rounded part of the edge. It looks exactly like the polished hold that you can find in most climbing gyms. Note that I chalk up and always brush the edges almost after every hang that I do.
You can see a big difference between the edges that I use and the one that I don't. I noticed this phenomenon when I started training on a rather small (for me) edge (14mm) that I feel it was considerably easier when I started using it. It got polished quite fast (1 month)!!
Do you think I should switch to a wood hangboard or should I just get used to the new (harder) polished texture?? What's your opinion on this??
For mine, i dont brush it so it gets polished. Makes the holds harder as you get stronger. Only problem is that if you are swinging at all, you can slip off the smallest ones.
