Visiting San Diego from the UK in January

Hi, I'll be visiting San Diego on work trip in January and would really like to add some climbing on to the trip.  I've been to Bishop and JTree bouldering and been to Red Rocks for sport before.  I'm fine to hire a car,  but would appreciate some suggestions for where I could go for around 5 days.  My first choice would be single pitch sport at around 7a. I think that's 5.12ish. I don't have a partner,  so ideally would like to go somewhere with a bit of a scene so that I could join in with other people.  Was thinking of driving to red rocks, but would appreciate any suggestions for places that might be nearer.  Cheers.
