La Sportiva Mantra Rubber SUPER slippery

This is around my 30th pair of shoes, and i was running out of options so I decided to get the Mantra. Is it just me or the rubber Extremely slippery? Like mostly on volumes and wood holds? it literally doesn’t work. it’s more slippery than standing on dual text 

Might be an oxidization layer on the rubber? Maybe try light sanding to exfoliate the outer layer, see if better results? I have also experienced some increased tackiness after cleaning soles with rubbing alcohol. YMMV. 

Maybe a bad batch of rubber? My Mantras are The stickiest shoes I’ve ever worn.

I’m breaking in a pair of Katanas right now, and they are all over the place on the gym holds. Granted, I’ve sized it larger than my Scarpas which use XS Grip 2, but it’s noticeably more slick.

Agreed. I find the mantras really sticky.
