Just had surgery for a blown out knee.

Need PT to get back in the game.

Anyone out there who can recommend a good physical therapist in the Sandy area?

I recommend Eli Rogers at Hand & Ortho. Used him for a shoulder, a left ACL and a right Achilles in the last 3 years…(it’s been a long 3 years…..)

I've had great experiences with Carrie Cooper and Joel Nuttall. The former was a professional boulderer and owns her own practice downtown and the latter is a runner and is at Intermountain in Murray.

Don Hansen in Draper. He did the rehab on my wife's knees and prevented me from needing rotator cuff surgery.

Dan Mills at Performance Rehab Clinic. One of the best in the country. I'm a Physical Therapist and that's who I see for my knee.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Unfortunately, none of these folks are in my insurance network, so I'm going to have to go with a random guy who is in my network.

I know this is unsolicited and there are other factors here but in my experience its worth seeing a good pt, and a good pt is at least an order of magnitude better than an average one (not that the random guy isnt good, could be!). And an excellent one is an order of magnitude better than a good one (yes I really think an excellent pt is at least 100x better than the avg, having seen about 20 of them in my life). The function of my knee is worth a few hundred extra bucks. Food for thought.

100% agree with John. Also, you are unlikely to luck into a good pt at one of the local medical conglomerates. It may be pricey per visit but at least do one session with a good pt and try to get as much out of them about the entire recovery process.

Went to the PT that my insurance covered.

Not a particularly good experience.

Would have been fine if I were 90 years old and trying to stand up out of my wheelchair and walk not using a walker.

Not good for someone who is trying to get back to climbing, skiing, and hiking.

Will explore some non-insurance options now.
