Skimo boot for splitboard?

I have the scarpa F1 and am interested in a splitboard setup. Was told there are binding systems that would allow me to use this ski boot. Thoughts?

Thanks

You want Phantom bindings

I'm not familiar with anybody using the F1 specifically as a splitboard boot (other boots are more common), but there are a bunch of hardboot bindings on the market for hardboot snowboarding, each with pros and cons. I'm sure there are others I didn't mention as well, but these are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Thanks for these tips. I’m thinking of going with the phantoms.

Wondering if my F1 will get the job done. I’m just hoping to get some mellow days inbounds and occasional day in the backcountry. My kiddo is getting into snowboarding and I want to learn with him. It would be nice to avoid buying another boot. Not expecting amazing performance but curious if you think the F1 with phantom bindings will get me going. Thanks

It'll definitely get you going! F1s are quite popular among splitboarders. I've a few friends running them and had a pair myself briefly before switching to backlands.

Long time splitboarder and hard boot user and even longer time snowboarder here...if it's for casual use inbounds and the occasional tour and you are already comfortable on skis then I would suggest a used solid snowboard/bindings for use inbounds and skiing in the backcountry.  You should be able to find a used snowboard kit that is only a year or two old for the same cost as Phantom bindings and you'll be much happier on the groomers and it sounds like you already have the touring kit since you have F1s.

I've been splitting in Backlands since they came out but I don't find them to have the same suspension on groomers that my soft snowboard boots have.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
