After an eventful 18-day period on the mountain (24 January – 10 February), and to the astonishment of the British camp commandant, the three adventurers broke back into Camp 354. As reward for their exploit, they each received 28 days in solitary confinement, commuted to 7 days by the camp commandant in acknowledgement of their "sporting effort".

He actually didn’t have the FA. Another prisoner used the same route to escape early this year, though he was caught within a day. Still a very bad guy, so really not someone to admire in any way.

The story Soprepro summarized above is from the book No Picnic on Mt. Kenya—-a great classic read. Since they were prisoners of war, it is much easier to ‘root’ for them, than it is for a domestic murderer.

Well, he is definitely even worse than a scumbag, but not because he repeated a problem ( if doing so makes one a scumbag, most of us would fit that definition ) —as long as he didn’t claim the FA.
