Metolius crack gloves

Has anybody tried them? It kind of looks like a better version of the OR glove. Thin, but maybe with a rubber pattern that won't peel and also more thumb protection. Looks like beefier finger loops too, but honestly that's a con for me.

Another crack glove to try out xD my favorite out of all is the G7s

I bought a pair in S to try out. My preferred glove is squeezing into an OR in XS for most climbing, and a BD in S for fist cracks and wider.

They are slightly thicker in all aspects (fabric, rubber, glue) than those, but nowhere near Ocuns. The single rubber design makes me think they won't stretch much, and I would say they were sized perfectly snug. However the thumb knuckle doesn't actually get covered for teacups when sized like this.

The biggest problem is the finger loops loops are a disaster. They inexplicably designed them with four rough seams that dig into each of your fingers (loops flipped inside-out in the photo below).

Overall I don't see a niche for these. If they finger loops weren't painful they could be fine general purpose gloves, but I really can't emphasize enough how much those finger loops suck and will rub your skin raw.

Was eyeing these. Thanks for sharing the photo! Saved me the hassle.

I have been trying these out for the past month or so, and I actually really like them. They are similar to the BD gloves, but with a little more padding. Haven’t had any issue with the seams irritating my fingers like the above poster. Will have to see how they hold up long term, but so far I can recommend them.

Gotta agree with Austin. Over the years I've tried a few different pairs of crack gloves. When my BD gloves went missing, I tried the Metolius. I think very highly of Metolius gear, but these gloves are the worst. Painful finger loops, poor fit, not great protection, and not great grip in cracks. I'll be going back to BD.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
