I climb there probably 2x a week. It’s a Boulder gym, there are ropes on some walls but the highest wall is 18ft and they have extremely good mats, so no reason to top rope unless old or injured. No leading. The grading is okay up to about v6, things after that start to get much more arbitrary. V7 is about the hardest thing you will find set. There is a 40 degree moonboard with 2017 hold set if your trying to get on hard problems. It’s a very clean gym, likely due to the liquid chalk only rule, which some people hate. They recently added a smith machine and a free Olympic bar, and they have dumbbells and pull up bars and hang boards.
Overall it’s a great thing we have them here in Monterey, but if you are coming from an area with a bustling climbing scene this gym may be less than what your used to. The staff are very nice people and always super friendly, honestly the nicest staff of any gym I have been to and always willing to help.
