i got my shoe back from plastburough shoe hospital a month ago, and I'd like to put in a good word on his work.
Previously, I sent the same pair of shoe to newengland resole, but my experience isn't too good. they barely pick up the phone, hard to reach, a bit more expensive, and most importantly, idk what rubber they were using, but either that they were old vibram rubber, or they weren't vibram rubber. the sole rubber was flaying around the edges, and when i used it to climb, rather than the rock sanding through the rubber, small chunks was coming off instead(chunks is usually a sign of old rubber). this meant that i went through 2 pairs of shoe in 4 months despite using them less than usual...
on the other hand, plastburough shoe hospital is skilled. i don't think there's such thing as amazing resoler, they just do a good enough job until the next time, he did what i expected to happen. The rubber is fresh and grippy (despite that they should have both been using vibram grip 2) and it's wearing down like what i expected. the icing on the cake is that he's cheap and responds to the phone and quicker turn aroud time.
but keep in mind i did only ever had 2 pairs of shoe repaired in resole, and the same in plastburough shoe hospital. it's just that i didn't have such a hit and miss back in EU.
